She shouldn’t be here. Hells, she shouldn’t even be alive! And yet, here she stands, more than a year and a half after the incident. Time has moved on without her, and the world has changed for the better. New friends, old friends...Shit. Her head feels like a muddled drink with far too much alcohol.
How do you explain what it feels like to finally wake up? After letting someone else pilot your body for so long?
It’s just the kind of rubbish a drunk would come up with, but somehow, it’s the truth. Cravendy growls under her breath, frustrated. Ashamed. Gloomy. And, much to her own annoyance, she can’t stop thinking about how empty she feels. Part of her wants to go back to the way things were, when everything was warm and everything was light.
But she knows, without a doubt, that to pursue such a path would be folly. The best thing she can do now is carry on in this strange new reality.
